Over the past decade, Dana Gillespie has been a regular performer at the 606, one of the most vibrant jazz clubs and live music venues in Europe since 1976. Featuring an eclectic mix of jazz, soul, Latin, R&B, funk, gospel, blues, and groove artists, the venue offers live music 7 nights a week, along with Sunday lunches. With an intimate capacity of 120 seated guests, this cozy basement club and restaurant is renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and has nurtured many up-and-coming jazz talents over the years, including Liane Carroll, Polly Gibbons, Jason Rebello, and Jamie Cullum, who has described it as "London's best music venue". Under the stewardship of musician Steve Rubie since its inception, the 606 originally started out as a tiny 30-seater basement venue on Kings Road.

Dana & The Joachim Palden Trio in Innsbruck

The stars are definitely shining on Dana Gillespie right now as she has been accepted to perform at the world famous SXSW Festival in Austin,Texas, and so in March she will be taking her British musicians to perform songs from her 73rd double album which was recorded ‘live' at the Temple of Art and Music on her 73rd birthday, in London. One of the tracks she will be performing is ‘Andy Warhol’, the song that David Bowie wrote for her, as well as her European hit called ‘Move Your Body Close To Me’. She will also be talking about her colourful life to coincide with the release of her memoirs called ‘Weren’t Born A Man’.
